There were blueberry bushes at the edge of the woods at Lake Shore too, and if we could gather enough, Mrs. Ring would make a pie or cobbler for us.

When I was little, I wanted to live like that year-round. Now, I'm not so sure I would have loved it, but having that experience once a year was wonderful. We couldn't afford much in the way of vacations as a kid, but we lived on a 189 acre farm overlooking Sennebec Lake, so with clam races, endless swimming, numerous hiding places in the woods as well as acres of wild blueberries, we didn't feel deprived. Mom used a 4 inch cowbell to summon us for meals.Berekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14172936893264053007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3388578325782539013.post-24848945748684572442017-08-11T19:43:24.362-04:002017-08-11T19:43:24.362-04:00That place, that experience, sounds wonderful. I'm a homebody. I like familiarity and feeling comfortable. I love knowing where the best restaurants and the best hiking spots and (in Concord, NH) the best candy shop are. And then you can see the subtle changes that happen to a place over time, like you must see in NY when you go back year after year.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13715756436666312767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3388578325782539013.post-81274347151254170022017-08-11T16:55:11.287-04:002017-08-11T16:55:11.287-04:00I like new AND old. I have a constant longing in my heart for Paris and NYC, so I try to get to NYC every year and to Paris as often as possible (usually about every 3 years). They're just like home to me. I love exploring new places, too, so my travels involve a mix of places. Both are great.Mary Strandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04207891254900502488noreply@blogger.com
