I Read to Have My Mind Changed - By Kimberly Sabatini
One of the main reasons I read is to know more. If you know more things and have more experiences, your view of the world can't help but change.
I took a stroll through my Goodreads list and came up with some examples of how reading books has changed my mind.
Because of these books, I changed how I think...
CHILDREN CAN BE ANYONE AND EVERYONE'S HEROES
BOOK MAGIC CAN CREATE REAL MAGIC
WHEN YOU THINK YOU'RE WEIRD AND FEEL LIKE NO ONE THINKS LIKE YOU, AN AUTHOR CAN SHOW YOU YOU'RE NOT ALONE
SOMETIMES A PICTURE BOOK CAN EXPLAIN LIFE BETTER THAN A NOVEL
HISTORY CAN BLOW YOUR MIND AND CHANGE HOW YOU SEE THE FUTURE
I REALLY CAN TELL MY THREE KIDS THAT WHILE DYSLEXIA HAS CHALLENGES, IT ALSO HAS GIFTS
THE TRUTH MIGHT BE UGLY BUT PRETENDING IT DOESN'T EXIST WON'T CHANGE ANYTHING--KNOWLEDGE IS POWER EVEN WHEN KNOWLEDGE IS SCARY
NO MATTER HOW MUCH I LEARN ABOUT IT, I'M STILL GOING TO USE SEMI-COLONS INCORRECTLY--ASK MY AGENT LOL!
THIS IS THE BOOK I HAVE READ AND REREAD THE THE MOST OFTEN BECAUSE IT'S SO DAMN FUNNY--I WANT TO WRITE HUMOR TOO.
THERE IS NO REASON IN THE WORLD TO BE A PANTSTER--I'M A PLOTTER NOW!
THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN STOP ME FROM LIVING MY DREAM IS ME--SO I DARE TO DELVE--OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN <3
What book comes to mind when you think about having your perspective shifted?
Wonderful post. Way back when I was a freshman in college, my readings for a 2nd semester research paper on the air war over North Vietnam changed my life completely and I've been moved by fact and fiction in print ever since.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing--I was fascinated with Vietnam in High School after doing a project. Wore an MIA braclet for years.
DeleteOh! I love this...and am adding so many of these to my TBR list (the ones I haven't already, that is!) And *sniff* thanks for including my sweet Dragon. I'm honored and touched. <3 xoxo
ReplyDeleteAWESOME.
