Where they burn books, they will in the end also burn people

There's not much I can think to write about burning (except maybe that it was the topic of my first book). Instead, let's wind down the month with some scary pictures.

Book burning, Nazi Germany.

Comic book burning, Alabama, 1948.

Harry Potter book burning, 2002.

Book burning, Minnesota, 1982.

Jack Chick tract.

Beatles Record burning, Georgia, 1966.

"Every burned book enlightens the world."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

(the title quote is by Heinrich Heine)

  1. What disturbing images...Goose bump inducing. Really. Makes me think of the horribly, horribly embarrassing incident about a year ago with the dreaded Wesley Scroggins. (WHY must all the crazies be from Missouri??)

  2. Parents need to learn to do a better job of raising their children, instead of blaming someone else.
Burning media - today, video games, is an ignorant response and may be setting a dangerous example.
