you should be drinking cocoa right now

Regardless of whether or not you celebrate a holiday on the 25th of December, I wish you all a lovely day filled with appropriately winterish things: cocoa with marshmallow, cozy sweaters, a warm (intentional) fire, and cuddling with an obliging pet (yes! she must be obliging). Maybe read a good book; that's my favorite way to celebrate a cold winter's day.

Speaking of celebrating, this week I've celebrated moving my blog to it's new home with a book giveaway: www.alisalibby.com/blog. Please do visit my blog if you are interested. I'll be giving away a few free books, including Lauren Strasnick's latest release Her and Me and You, as well as signed copies of my own books, The King's Rose and The Blood Confession.

In the meantime, if you would like to enjoy the season the way that Catherine Howard does in The King's Rose, you could throw a huge banquet serving roasted peacock and cakes shaped like castles, with music and dancing by the light of torches and candles. And an illicit affair taking place under the nose of her royal husband. But that part I really wouldn't recommend.

  1. I received the most snuggly pair of flannel PJs for Christmas and all I could think was, "I can't wait to snuggle up on the couch and read a book in these!!" So that's what I've been doing all day. And now, thanks to you, I'm reminded that I have some very chocolately hot cocoa in the cabinet and I will go make myself some!! Have a wonderful holiday!

  2. I got a snuggie for Christmas and had the same thought as Jenny. I want to read a book in this! But I am sadly lacking in hot cocoa. I need to remedy this ASAP!
