Well, even with our moronic governor (Mike Parson of Missouri) about to lift the quarantine, we're still self-isolating for few more weeks. I'm interviewing my thirteen-year-old daughter, Sophie. Sophie is by far and away my favorite child (great being an only child, isn't it?).
Sophie, please tell us a little big about yourself.
My name is Sophie, I’m 13, I like cats, books, and intentionally freaking myself out with scary stories.
Why do you like freaking yourself out?
I enjoy scary content if I can choose when I get scared, if that makes any sense.
Why do you think you like to read so much?
Because my parents read to me a lot when I was little.
Yes, we are wonderful. But no one really forces you. During this lockdown you’ve read a lot.
Well, books help distract me from the horrible state of our environment.
What are some of your favorite books?
I like fantasy books and stuff about Greek mythology.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
Brian Katcher, J.K. Rowling, James Patterson, Tara Dairamon.
What do you enjoy about going to the library?
It’s a place where I can go and sit and be a book nerd, and nobody bothers me.
Which Hogwarts house?
Team Peeta or team Gale?
Team nobody, because Katniss has enough stuff going on in her life right now.
Favorite nerd show?
Thank you, Sophie.
