The Importance of Young Adults Disconnecting from Electronics and Reconnecting with Nature and Themselves (Guest Post by Claudia Daher, Author of R.A.T.S))

In today’s fast-paced digital world, young adults live surrounded by screens. Phones, computers, and social media have become central to our lives — offering connection and information, yet often leaving us anxious, distracted, and isolated. Technology brings many joys, but these feelings often fade the moment we turn off our devices. What remains is silence, sadness, and a sense of loneliness — as if our closest friends were the screens we hold in our hands.

Our minds no longer rest, constantly filled with noise, images, and opinions. Moments of peace and reflection — once essential for the soul — are now rare. That is why it is so important to pause, to think, and to seek balance between the world we see online and the world we live within.

I believe that a new generation is rising — one with principles and values. A generation that appreciates meditation, healthy food, contact with nature, and, above all, a connection with God. A generation that understands mutual respect, that knows the importance of serving others, and that seeks to help. A generation of light — one that desires good and chooses to do good.

Disconnecting from technology allows us to rediscover who we are. It gives space for creativity, memory, and genuine human connection to grow again. It makes it possible to build real friendships and even find a true partner with whom to share life and form a family. It also allows us to reconnect with ourselves — to step away from technology and its virtual values, and take a moment for introspection about where we are in life and what we truly want. Instead of drifting like a boat without a captain, we can navigate our own course with purpose and direction. In doing so, we connect more deeply with our friends and families — the ones who truly matter — because not everyone and not everything does. By being more selective about who we let into our lives, we avoid unnecessary or uncomfortable situations. We learn to value peace, live in harmony, and nurture true inner calm.

Family can take many forms — parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, uncles, aunts, and friends — the family that God gives us. There is no perfect family; every home carries its own story. But through learning, reflection, and respect for all people — regardless of religion, color, or race — life becomes lighter and more meaningful.

If God is One, then we are one. We Are One. When we embrace this truth, we begin to see that the divisions among us are illusions — that beneath our differences, we are made of the same light and share the same purpose: to love, to grow, and to serve one another with kindness and compassion.

We live in two worlds: the personal world within us, and the world we share with others — with humanity itself. If our inner world is not at peace, darkness begins to grow around us. To step out of that darkness, we must have the courage to change, to transform ourselves, and to draw a new path — one filled with meaning, faith, and love.

It is also essential to choose carefully who we walk beside — who our friends and companions are — because the people around us can either help us rise toward the light or pull us away from it.

We all want a better world — one with less violence, fewer wars, and no hunger or destruction. A world where humanity can live in peace, guided by love and wisdom. But this future depends on us. It depends on each of us choosing to be a light, to be a pillar of love within humanity.

Everything in life is cause and effect; sooner or later, we reap what we sow — and this truth applies not only to our personal lives but also to nature itself. When we care for the earth with love, it gives back life and beauty; when we harm it, we see the consequences reflected in our world. We are completely connected with nature. When humanity is out of balance — when there are wars, cruelty, lies, gossip, selfishness, anger, or laziness — nature responds. It mirrors our collective energy. The storms, the droughts, and even the silence of the earth remind us that everything is interconnected. When we heal ourselves, we also begin to heal the planet.

Fear touches everyone — those who have everything fear losing it, and those who have little fear never having enough. But when we realize that we are here to love, to serve, and to help one another with patience and kindness, we begin to understand the true purpose of life.

Like a candle that lights another in the darkness — without losing its own flame — when we share love and light, our world becomes brighter. The more we give, the stronger our light shines, illuminating the vastness around us. And when we find this balance, we discover a better world within ourselves and all around us — a world where love, wisdom, and faith guide every step of humanity toward the light.

With love, gratitude, and appreciation,
