Burning. Banning.

I was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art recently checking out the special exhibit on the Tudors and Renaissance art when this tapestry caught my eye. It was hard to miss since it was roughly the size of a movie theater screen. "Saint Paul Directing the Burning of the Heathen Books" dates back to 1539. It was commissioned by Henry VIII, a big fan of burning books and beheading wives. There will always be people, so threatened by ideas and words that contradict their narratives and agendas, they'd reather see them burned and banned than have an actual discussion.
